Beach Communities Seem to be Immune from Major Economic Downturn, Carlsbad Ca There seem to be two types of individuals at Southern California Beach communities, people with a lot of money or people with a lot of time. La Jolla, Dell Mar and to a lesser extent Carlsbad and othe Northern San Diego County Beach Communities seem immune from the economic crisis hitting other parts of the state and country. Could it be that the wealthy reside here and therefore have a more diversified and stronger base of income and wealth then most working class communities? Or could it be that they are financing their lifestyle longer then the rest of us. There are no screaming deals here on real estate and otherwise. The cheapest way to "soak up the sun" and enjoy the ocean out here is to share housing or commute from an inland location like me.
