Resolved Question: Road trip around western America and partly Canada, ideas?

My friend and I are going on a road trip around western america and slightly Canada. Here's a general map of where we are going, http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl If the link doesn't work for whatever reason I'll list the places we are going from start to finish San Diego, CA Carlsbad, NM (the national park there) Denver, CO Yellowstone, MT Banff, Alberta, Candada Portland,OR San Fran, CA San Diego We like outdoors stuff and it'll be in October. If you have any ideas of places we can go that could stretch our boundaries and bit or that we may already be heading by but don't know please let me know!
